In this post I want to comment
about a video called "7 Food Forests in 7 minutes with Geoff
Lawton", where he shows the connection between agriculture and food.
First, he talks about the
importance of organic matter in soil on crops. He says that this soil condition is
very important for fast growth and development of plants. Then he shows the different
stages of the crop development, growing between native flora of the place. He
makes emphasis in the good growth of annual plants in winter and the appropriate
growth of roots and nodules in legumes in summer.
Then he shows how a woman carries out hand harvest and finally he shows how he incorporates
stubble to return organic matter to the soil.
Well, the video is
boring, it does not show new things.
On the order, about
the possibility of implement this in Chile I think that every person could make
permaculture in his/her own home by promoting self-cultivation, but in Chile there is
no education about this.
I leave you this video, what do you think about that?
