My favorite movie: Pirates of Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.

The plot is the thrilling high-seas adventure with a mysterious twist that started it all. The roguish yet charming Captain Jack Sparrow's idyllic pirate life capsizes after his nemesis, the wily Captain Barbossa, steals his ship, the Black Pearl, and later attacks the town of Port Royal kidnapping the governor's beautiful daughter, Elizabeth. In a gallant attempt to rescue her and recapture the Black Pearl, Elizabeth's childhood friend Will Turner joins forces with Jack. What Will doesn't know is that a cursed treasure has doomed Barbossa and his crew to live forever as the undead. Rich in suspense-filled adventure, sword-clashing action, mystery, humor, unforgettable characters, and never-before-seen special effects, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl is a must-have epic on the grandest scale ever!
The director was Gore Verbinski and the principal actors was Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow, Geoffrey Rush as Captain Barbossa, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner and Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Swann.
I like it because it has lots of action, the story is consistent with the fun and creative plot. What I liked most of all, was the interpretation of Jack Sparrow, the setting and special effects. I sincerely believe that even before this film, the genre of the pirates was abandoned for a while and then came this wonderful film, well made and very well characterized.
Long live the pirates!
